In the early days of The Academy, space was a precious commodity at the Adams Street location. Yet, amidst the constraints, Bertha's piano found its home under the staircase. It was in this cozy corner that she worked her magic, shaping the talents of countless Academy students.

When The Academy moved to its present location on Chicago Ave, Bertha made the journey with the school, and she was happy to find that her cherished piano now had a classroom all to itself. It was a testament to her enduring commitment and the mark she had left on the school.

十五年, Bertha graced The Academy with her presence, before choosing to embark on a well-deserved retirement in the company of her daughter in sunny Florida. She embodied the essence of an Academy teacher – a beacon of wisdom, a source of inspiration, and a model of dedication.
